To improve safety and allow maintenance onto the vehicle, A method of shutting down the high voltage circuits is required. To meet this requirement, several contactor boxes and fuseboxes have been assembled. The contactor boxes allow me to pre-charge the motor-controller on request by turning the ignition key to position 2 (II). Turning the ignition key to the start position sends a requests to the contactor box to close the main-contactor. This request is evaluated against two simple rules. 1. Is the pre-charge circuit ready with pre-charging the capacitor inside the motor-controller. 2. Is the pre-charge resistor not over-heating.
If both rules are met, the main-contactor closes.
